Movie Tickets

Inside the letter I received from Mike this week were two movie tickets. The weekend before Mike left I tried to make sure that we did all sorts of activities that he wasn't going to be able to do in the next few months. The movie Death Race was something that he'd been anticipating. Sunday evening, August 23, we went to see the movie. It was a very testosterone oriented movie, but I went along as the supportive girlfriend. He kept the tickets in his wallet and they served him as a reminder of all the things we did together the week before he left. The weeks leading to his departure, we spent every minute together that we could. We had dinner with families, trips to Indiana for Sonic, and many moments just talking. The letter and the movie tickets were a nice reminder to me of the week before he left for boot camp. I had, in a way, forgotten those times. I tried to focus on the goal ahead and didn't take time to remember those good times in detail.

Other than that he says that the cold he developed is now clearing up and the days are going by faster. He found out that his A-School in Mississippi will only be 10 weeks instead of the anticipated twelve. This is the end of week 4 of boot camp. We successfully made it through 1 month of boot camp and both of us are still in good spirits!

As everyone has told me, time has gone by quickly but it's still not fast enough.
